Lots of and loads of

I have did some surfing on the internet to find the difference betwen lot and load, and most of them agreed on the following:

"lots of" is synonymous with "loads of"
usually "loads of" will be used informally

if you want to just use 'lot' or 'load', you'll need to add 'a' in front of it, "a lot of" "a load of"

Examples:
A lot of flowers, a load of flowers, lots of flowers, loads of flowers.
